Here we are:
And just like that, every light in the house came on.
I sat bolt up right.
Gone the gloom, the sense of inevitable despair.
Gone the fog that I have slept walk through these past few weeks.
Well I'll be damned.
I'm on drugs.
TIME TO DO THINGS!!!
Where to start?!!?
How to end?!!?
I think I can hear my thoughts in my teeth, tee hee.
Lol! Just what I needed before going to bed. You're my own version of prozac! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWatch out, I cause dry mouth and weight gain
DeleteLol!
DeleteSo now that you're feeling better this is a romance blog?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Congratulations on the birth of happiness and the upcoming birth of your child.
WHAT?!?!? No way-romance is for girls....
DeleteTo tell you the truth, your comment kind of threw me.
Romance blog? Ewwww I really hope not
thanks for always reading, Mandy!
I'd like to echo your wife's words: I'm glad you're back Gween!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kevin!
DeleteWoot!!! I don't know which I love more -- Prozac Man and his Merry Band of Mind-altering Miscreants or your wife. So flippin' fab that you are feeling like yourself again -- and just in time for Gweenie Baby!
ReplyDeleteProzac Man and his Merry Band of Mind-altering Miscreants-cool
DeleteWives. They always know exactly what to say and when to say it to get us to fix that dryer vent, don't they?
ReplyDeleteIn my case, my wife would be much better off fixing things herself, as I tend to make a bit of a bungle out of it
DeleteJust fucking hilarious.
ReplyDelete(I never have a problem with swearing and anyway to just say that was hilarious does not do it justice. No it was the motherfucking height of hilarity).
I'm glad you're feeling better too. Although you probably could've waited a few more days before taking Prozac - with the nippers you already have and a new baby I doubt you would've had time to be depressed.
Best have a think about any other "jobs" you blamed not doing on it too, cos I bet MrsG has a mental list just waiting for you....
Thanks cowgirl! You are a better swearer than me, you have a better sense of its timing.
DeleteIf the level of weird energy the medication provides holds out, than it might serve me well in the sleepless newborn nights ahead.
Oh, the mystical powers of prozac man...I hope we continue to see him in your future posts...this is one of the best ones yet!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Dorsey! I might draw him more, because that beard was pretty fun to draw, but I have to think of something entertaining for him to do
Deletethis is my favorite thing you've written since i read the post about how to use baby wipes.
ReplyDeletei like how being inside your own unique costume creation made you feel normal.
yay for your fat baby that's almost here!
WOW thanks Sherilin! That is such a nice thing to say. I have a weird relationship with costumery, in that even wearing a pair of sunglasses makes me feel like I can be anyone I want to be.
DeleteBetter living through chemistry! So happy for you. And, yes, man stuff does make us swoon!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I usually undo my wife's swooning whenever I do a victory dance after fixing something. It's a whole lot of awkwardly rotating man belly
DeleteKick out the jams, hippo-campus!
ReplyDeleteI was kind of happy with that joke
DeleteGlad you're feeling better gweenie but...erm at the thought of making you depressed again...you do know that if the baby arrives in 10 days, then it will be born on Spawn's birthday...not that I'm alluding to anything...I mean he may turn out fine and not evil at all...I'll shut up now shall I?
ReplyDeleteBut at the very least, Spawn sounds remarkably intelligent for his age; I might be cool with an evil GENIUS....just not an evil doofus.
DeleteAnd, if he ends up like Spawn, at least I am guaranteed some good blogging material
Citalipram Man comes to my house once a day and makes me get up in the morning and do stuff. I'm starting to hate that sonofabitch. (Oh... I get to swear all the time, so it's not a big deal. I'm actually pretty good at it, or at least I think I am, until people giggle when I do it and say things like, "It's HYSTERICAL when you drop the F bomb because you sound SO SWEET and it's like MARY POPPINS or ANNE OF GREEN GABLES is all, "Fuck... BWAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!" Bitches.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love how I make all your blogs about me?
Meanwhile, happy thoughts for a healthy and easy delivery for mommy and I can't wait to hear that the newest little Gweenbrick has made his debut!!
I would take at least a laugh when I swear, as opposed to the pitying glances and "oh he tries so hard, doesn't he?" sighs that I do get
DeleteYou can make all my blogs about you, thats cool.
Best Prozac ad EVER.
ReplyDeleteWell played.
Thank you Marianne! You can see what corporate sponsorship I landed, can't you?
DeleteYou have the whitest couch.
ReplyDeleteThanks esb, it is pretty white. I wonder if the designer was too lazy to fill it with a color on his drawing program...nah..
DeleteI forgot to mention you look good in a burqa. But then everyone kinda looks the same in a burqa.
DeleteI am glad you are feeling better, I have been thinkin' about you alot hoping that you would be getting on the mend. I wiLL rest easier now that I know there are a few more smiles in the GB household. I am looking forward to hearing more about The Next Baby Gweenbrick.
Thank you, I do cut a rather dashing figure when poured into a burqa. They are quite form-fitting in a completely formless way.
DeleteGweenbrick, I love your blog for some of the same reasons I love anime (I know I know!). I love it because it is almost completely impossible to predict. Maybe it was all that time you spent in Japan.......
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I am part Japanese, so maybe thats it?
DeleteIts funny because my blog always seems predictable to me, but I guess that is because it is playing out in my head, so makes sense
Yay! Welcome back! Hope Mr Prozac continues the good fight.
ReplyDeleteThanks kaz!
DeleteI am so happy to hear you're feeling better. I was a little worried, at first, that you would be writing about how Prozac isn't working for you, but it has pulled you through! Happy and joy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nellie, I guess it is doing something for now-hopefully it lasts-thanks for always reading!
DeleteWow - your art is amazing and,
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the sleep spittle...
Was thyroid trying to get brain to take some ecky or rob a bank?
Thank you Julie! I think Thyroid was trying to get brain to come over and play canasta
DeleteThis is probably my favorite blog that I've seen in awhile. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteI love this post. There is something a little bit eerie about Prozac man and his merry band. I feel like I could hear creepy carnival music playing when he arrived on scene....
ReplyDeleteIt's great you're feeling better and have energy to do stuff. By the way, I've read that right before a woman goes into labor, she gets a really strong nesting urge. It's like her body's last hormone push to get ready for baby.
"... ain't no lover like the one it got."
ReplyDelete*snort*
I like you, Gween. I really do. You're my kind of people.
Fucking "smart" phone. I meant "I" not "it." Ruined the whole thing now...
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling better Gween, but you've been funny the whole time.
ReplyDeletethese posts are sometimes so creepy and weird yet so entertaining!
ReplyDeleteI love that your brain is watching the Seventh Seal before getting happy! ha ha.
ReplyDeleteLove what you do, so I left a little something.. Pop by to collect.

This is absolutely hilarious. I'm glad that you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteSo funny, dude.
