Accidental party hat in that picture up there.
TO BE CONTINUED.....
(I know, I know, the suspense is killing me too...)
Forgot to add: this is an attempt at a straight comics post. But it is taking forever to draw....so I am dividing it up. Please let me know what you think! If it is interesting, dumb, whatever..
LOVE it! The bathroom pic actually made me burst out laughing at my desk... while drinking tea. My sinuses my never recover.
ReplyDeleteYay first comment! Thank you, lilkittin! I am nervous about it, because its a lot of drawing, and often when bloggers title something "part 1" they never get around to part 2.
DeleteMyself no exception.
Plus, its easier for me to write than draw; I am not a natural illustrator, so this is tough.
That bathroom thing really happened....it was pretty funny. I wish I had a recording of that little asian lady saying, "it her fault she no lock the door" I would make it into a dance remix
Don't know which I like more - the grey lady sitting next to you, or the one on the toilet.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, I likey them both a lot.
Tell me more.
Thank you!
DeleteDid something happen next?
ReplyDeleteI must have next!
Next me!
Oh Mr. The Jules, I wish I could tell you that so many awesome things happened, that my life was changed, but really this is just going to be a string of mundane incidents crudely drawn...
Deletethere is your next
It's great! Especially love the guy sitting next to you and the way he slurped, grinned and stared. Really well done - hope you don't keep us waiting for too long ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat start! I love it. Can't wait to read the rest of the story...
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe white letters on the blue back"ground" of the sign Have A Nice Poop cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is much better than "whatever".
I am so looking forward to going to Japan now. It will make me study that much more .....
You had me at sluuuuurp.
ReplyDeleteIs Part II going to reveal how you came to lose your goatee?
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious already! Looking forward to the next bit. And I didn;t know you have to pay to leave Japan!?
ReplyDeleteI'm on pins and needles! (In other words...MORE! MORE!)
ReplyDeleteStraight?!!! That's about as straight as...a not straight thing, or Lombard St. in San Francisco, whichever is less straight. Throw me some more curves! (Please?)
ReplyDeleteSo good! Love the uncle eye roll.
ReplyDeleteRock on.
ELpoo
I sat next to that lady's sister on a flight from Amsterdam to Houston. A 400 lb deaf mute who ended up writing notes to me for 10 hours and falling asleep on my shoulder in between.
ReplyDeleteTravel isn't for sissies.
Awaiting the rest of the saga with baited breath....
Your loss of beard is captivating.
ReplyDeleteUnka Scwoooooooooga! You have one too!? I have an unka scwooge as well! How cool B)
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting eagerly for the next part! Ciao ciao
Ha. Beautifully directed Gween - storyboard drawing another one of your talents. You need a button on your blog for your shop.
ReplyDeleteYou've got me interested and wanting more....
ReplyDeleteI'm on pins and needles!
ReplyDeleteAre you still in Japan? If so, how much to bail you out?
What was the purpose of the visit, besides visiting a tightwad Uncle?
Why oh why did you get rid of the goatee?
Ha, I like this! I can imagine its a ton of work though. Excited for part 2.

ReplyDeleteNever underestimate the power of your writing, Gweenbrick. Your Special Origins story remains my favorite. If it is more natural for you to write (and faster)... by all means just give us a fewer cartoons to make it pop! I enjoy all the ways you tell a story. It's fun to watch you experiment! Please continue.
ReplyDeleteLoved the black-and-white frame of you being dragged away... nice touch.
ReplyDeleteGod, this honestly must have taken you FOREVER to draw. o_O Kudos, man.
ReplyDelete-Barb the French Bean
To be continued!?! How dare you, sir.
ReplyDeleteYou know I ALWAYS love your stuff.
Interesting OR dumb? Why can't it be both?
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't think you've ever posted a dumb thing.
Can't wait to see the drawings of Japan. ;-)
This is great. I'm looking forward to the continuation. I always thought your very early post about your trip to Japan would be good illustrated. I like me a nice cold "bottah watta" every now and then. The bathroom surprise made me laugh. I wish you had a recording of your pardon from the stranger, "it her fault".
ReplyDeleteHa @ the accidental party hat. I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment!
ReplyDeleteI love it I love it I love it. If I was sitting I would be on the edge of my SEAT. I am standing though. Keep going!
