Your Feelings Are Sick

My children fight constantly.
One time I overheard them fight about imaginary poop.

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!! IT'S NOT REAL! IT'S NOT REAL POOOOP!!"

I know I am not supposed to yell, and I have really been working on it.
To help me in this, I imagine myself as a feeble, sickly old man who cannot yell because the effort would kill him.
We put parenting books in the bathroom, to be sure we will read them.
The bathroom is our escape.
Where other people turn to cable tv, high speed internet, and drugs to slip away from their lives, we retreat to  our white tiled poustinia.
With a book in front of us, the sounds of rising chaos outside the door can feel like someone else's problem.
Parenting books are so helpful, especially the ones from the 1970s.

Take a look:
There are so many lessons in this simple cartoon.
I feel like a better parent already.

  3. PLEASE tell me that wasn't really clipped from a parenting book. PLEEEEEEEEASE.

BTW, kids are irrational, bizarre creatures. So are we adults, but we have learned how to mask it and so it is normal to want to get away from them as they remind us of what we really want to be like. Don;t sweat it.

    Thanks for the encouragement.
I have not learned how to mask it yet.
